This is where you’ll find all the exciting stuff happening around The BYF Project — shout-outs, features, events, workshops, and the cool opportunities our community is getting involved in. Whether we’re speaking at a school, launching a new initiative, collaborating with student leaders, or getting recognized somewhere in the world, we’ll post it here first.
Aanya Featured in Evergreen Times for Teen Mental Health Leadership
Aanya Mukherjee was recently featured in the Evergreen Times for founding the Buy Yourself Flowers Project and launching Bloom Boxes — teen-designed mental health toolkits distributed to schools and youth organizations across the United States.
The feature highlights the importance of youth voices in mental health advocacy and showcases how peer-led initiatives can expand access to relatable, practical wellness resources in schools.
Aanya expressed gratitude to the educators, students, and community partners supporting BYF’s mission to make teen mental health resources more accessible, inclusive, and youth-driven. Read the full feature on pages 1–2 of the Evergreen Times.

Aanya Mukherjee in February 2026, led a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) workshop for Pinewood School’s Class of ’27, focusing on time management, academic balance, and teen mental wellness. As a junior herself, she designed an interactive assembly helping students break down busy schedules, prioritize sleep, and manage commitments without burnout.
The peer-led session empowered students with practical tools they could immediately apply — reinforcing BYF’s mission to support teen mental health through youth-driven conversations and real-world strategies.

10 New Partnerships with schools announced. 1st Bloom Box Delivery to Westmont High School
In December, Aanya delivered the first official batch of Bloom Boxes to Westmont High School in Campbell, California. The mental health tool-kits were distributed to the Westmont Wellness Center to support students with accessible, peer-created wellness resources.
We were grateful to receive positive feedback from the WHS Wellness Center and are proud to launch this new school partnership. This milestone marks an exciting step in expanding Bloom Box distribution to more Bay Area public schools and strengthening teen mental health support across our community.

150 Bloom Boxes Created at Pinewood School Workshops
Aanya Mukherjee proudly hosted multiple teen mental health workshops at Pinewood School, bringing together students ages 12–16 to assemble Bloom Boxes — thoughtfully curated mental health tool-kits for teens. These boxes were created after conducting qualitative research through focus groups and quantitative analysis via surveys to identify key mental health challenges among teens and measure solution efficacy
While the original goal was to create 30 boxes over two days, student volunteers exceeded expectations by assembling 150 Bloom Boxes. Each box includes supportive items such as mini journals, herbal teas, guided breathing exercises, face masks, hot cocoa, fidget tools, and other wellness resources.
The completed Bloom Boxes will be donated to Wellness Centers across Bay Area public schools, expanding access to peer-driven mental health support and reinforcing BYF’s mission to promote teen mental wellness and community care.

BYF Project Featured at Los Altos Holiday Market with Together We Can
In December 2025, Aanya Mukherjee and the Buy Yourself Flowers Project partnered with Los Altos–based nonprofit Together We Can to host a fundraising and awareness booth at the Downtown Los Altos Holiday Market — a beloved community event featuring local vendors, live music, and seasonal festivities.
Together We Can is a youth-focused nonprofit dedicated to empowering young girls to identify community needs and take meaningful action. Their mission aligns closely with BYF’s commitment to teen mental health advocacy, leadership development, and digital safety awareness.
Over the course of the afternoon, the team raised nearly $500 — bringing BYF almost 5% closer to its $10,000 fundraising goal.
