Co-founders

Aanya co-founded The Buy Yourself Flowers Project after experiencing bullying and feeling unheard by systems meant to support students. She realized how often teenagers are excluded from conversations about their mental health and became committed to ensuring they have a voice, support, and understanding.

Isaure co-founded the BYF project after recognizing a gap in resources available for teens’ mental health from their perspective. Having felt isolated while relocating and struggling with self-esteem, she believed teens should have a bigger voice in conversations about their mental health. Inspired by her own experiences, she wanted to create a space where teenagers could find solidarity in their struggles and no longer feel alone in their insecurities.

Sabrina decided to co-found the BYF Project after discovering the true value of self-compassion and the power meaningful relationships have on improving mental health. After struggling with anxiety and depression for the past 2 years, she has learnt that the tree really does fall the way it leans, and the people you surround yourself with is important, especially during adolescence. She wants this project to emulate the supportive environment that everyone deserves, no matter how they are feeling.
